Structural Engineering is a core specialization in Civil Engineering. The branch of civil engineering that deals with large modern buildings and similar structures. Structural engineers analyze, design, plan, and research structural components and structural systems to achieve design goals and ensure the safety and comfort of users or occupants. Their work takes account mainly of safety, technical, economic and environmental concerns.
The course also includes the use of general purpose application oriented computer software in the field of Structural Engineering using finite element analysis and optimization techniques.
The aim of this program is to impart advanced fundamental concepts related to mechanics and dynamics of the structures. These coupled with courses related to recent developments in construction materials and technologies will impart cutting edge design methodologies and implementation strategies of various infrastructure facilities.
Blend of exposure to strong theoretical foundation, practical design & construction approaches through adequate computational, analytical and execution skill development.
